Etsy

First step is admitting your addiction..

I admit it. I admit it full on. I am fully addicted to Etsy. 98% of the bookmarks saved on my computer are links to etsy items. I have to have! Need to have. I don’t think I could live without for another day. Sadly.. the only purchases I have made from Etsy sellers have been gifts for other people who probably don’t even know the beginning of my heartbreak, having to part with the gifts!

I am a window shopper. Sometimes I go through my closest “big box store” loading my cart with things I MUST HAVE! Once the registers are insight I duck into an isle and assess the damage. :( And end up only buying what we really DO need. example: toilet paper.. lame. shampoo.. whatever. toothpaste.. ugh. (I AM SO SORRY WORKERS OF MY STORE! -or any store I have been to. If I impulse anything frozen.. I ALWAYS make sure I at least take that back. But I can’t risk running into something else I NEED!! – you must understand?)

So, moral of the story. Etsy is the perfect place for me to shop. Because I can shop away and walk away. Sometimes dreaming that I have the items I have found.. is just as good as HAVING the items I have found. Sometimes.

We went to the zoo yesterday! Took our first “road trip” in the NEW car. It was Jack Hannah’s zoo in Columbus Ohio. It was a nice and BIG zoo. The kids had a lot of fun. Last year Jack was too little to jump in and out of the stroller. It is so cute to see how much more fun he has, having a little of his own freedom to explore. He was really good at holding hands and getting back into the stroller. Luckily both our babies are not runners! Jack had a few moments but he always came back when I would tell him he had to hold onto my hand. They never went off out of our site. But we still let them do a little exploring on their own, within reason. Some parents at the zoo are SO rude. With their giant strollers right stuck in front of the animals. Half the time the stroller is empty. And they just stand there while their naughty and loud children are banging away on the glass clearly labeled DO NOT TAP ON GLASS. Jack and O got to touch a few snakes. I was surprised O did it at all. She is so nervous nelly of things. But Jack was all for it, I think she didn’t want to be left out. It was a really a wonderful day with my wonderful little family.

I found this cute little poem today listed on someones etsy item. I NEED IT. Of course. It has been saved in my bookmarks. ;) They didn’t have these photos.. or the whole poem.. but I love them and how cute the poem is.

The Owl and the Pussy Cat by Edward Lear

I
The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea
In a beautiful pea green boat,
They took some honey, and plenty of money,
Wrapped up in a five pound note.
The Owl looked up to the stars above,
And sang to a small guitar,
‘O lovely Pussy! O Pussy my love,
What a beautiful Pussy you are,
You are,
You are!
What a beautiful Pussy you are!’
II
Pussy said to the Owl, ‘You elegant fowl!
How charmingly sweet you sing!
O let us be married! too long we have tarried:
But what shall we do for a ring?’
They sailed away, for a year and a day,
To the land where the Bong-tree grows
And there in a wood a Piggy-wig stood
With a ring at the end of his nose,
His nose,
His nose,
With a ring at the end of his nose.

III
‘Dear pig, are you willing to sell for one shilling
Your ring?’ Said the Piggy, ‘I will.’
So they took it away, and were married next day
By the Turkey who lives on the hill.
They dined on mince, and slices of quince,
Which they ate with a runcible spoon;
And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand,
They danced by the light of the moon,
The moon,
The moon,
They danced by the light of the moon.

Etsy is addicting and for me, a huge time waster! I have to pull myself away sometimes and remind myself it’s time to stop looking at the pretty vintage egg platters! hehehe
